Systems integration

API Integrations

Connected business systems through APIs and webhooks to reduce duplicate entry, improve data consistency, and accelerate cross-system workflows.

Overview

Integration work focused on helping business systems exchange information reliably so users did not have to manually reconcile the same data in multiple places.

Business Problem

Important operational data was split across platforms, creating duplicate entry, inconsistent records, and slow handoffs between teams and systems.

My Role

I identified integration opportunities, mapped fields, tested API behavior, documented authentication and support needs, and planned error-handling paths.

Challenges

  • Reconciling different data models between source and destination systems.
  • Designing integrations that fail visibly and can be supported.
  • Balancing speed of delivery with maintainability.

Solution

Defined source-of-truth rules, mapped data fields, configured triggers, tested edge cases, and documented the integration so it could be understood after launch.

Business Impact

Reduced duplicate data entry, improved data consistency, sped up business workflows, and made cross-system processes easier to audit and refine.

Lessons Learned

  • Integration design is business analysis as much as technical wiring.
  • Error handling deserves first-class planning.
  • Good documentation turns an integration into an owned business system.
